I think they turned out pretty cute! They were thank you gifts for people I didn’t get to see on Christmas. The stomach flu and sinus infections have stopped at our house and so far someone has missed every holiday since Thanksgiving! I completely skipped Christmas 🙁 On a healthy note, I didn’t over eat at Christmas and actually having a smoothie is pretty much all I’ve done for breakfast since Christmas.
I like to start out with oats, just pop them in the bottom of the blender and grind them up. Some people do protein powder, but I always have oats and they really fill me up and I just feel better about it, because I know what’s in it, oats!
Then add spinach and water and give it a whirl
One frozen banana
Then some mixed fruit, give it a whirl and serve it up with a straw. It keeps me satisfied until lunch time, I hope it does the same for you!
Spinach and mixed berry Smoothie
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup spinach
1 cup water
1 frozen banana
1 cup mixed frozen fruit (I like blueberries, strawberries, peaches, pineapple, mango whatever)
1 tsp of flax-seed or chia seeds
extra water to thin out
Add oats to blender and blend until fine dust, add spinach and water and blend. Add banana and fruit, blend. Add water until pourable.
