FROSTED DONUTS 009

Chocolate Frosted Donuts

FROSTED DONUTS 015After the donuts a couple weeks ago, I knew I wanted to try some different varieties.  So last night these happened and they were very good! Warm baked donuts with chocolate ganache, sooooo goooood!

As with the Mini Baked Donuts use a Ziploc bag to pipe them into the cavities of the donut pan.

I would love to say that the ones with the sprinkles were just for the little guys that live down the block from me, but a lot of them were eaten by the big kid that lives with me!

Chocolate Frosted Mini Donuts

1 cup of flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. baking soda

1 egg

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup whole milk

1/4 cup fat free plain Greek yogurt

2 TBSP butter, melted

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Glaze:

1/2 semi sweet chocolate chips

2 TBSP butter

2 tsp. light corn syrup

2 tsp. water

Sprinkles, optional

Preheat oven to 375 and spray donut pan with non stick spray. Whisk flour, baking powder and baking soda together in a medium bowl.  In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, brown sugar, milk and yogurt, then add butter and vanilla, whisk until fully combined.  Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just until mixed together.  Pour into Ziploc bag and pipe into donut cavities. Bake 6 to 9 minutes.  While baking make glaze by add all ingredients to a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, and stir until completely combined.  Mine only took 30 seconds, if yours is completely melted microwave 10 more seconds and stir. Remove donuts from the oven when lightly browned around the edges remove from pan, and let them cool slightly, then dip into glaze and enjoy!

Oh wow, these look delicious! I have never made doughnuts before, but really tempted by your recipe. Although will have to stock up on a doughnut pan first. Any excuse to go shopping for more bakeware.

Chocolate goes with just about anything. Donuts are great by themselves, but when you add chocolate, it makes them ten times better! Thanks for linking up with Delicious Dishes Recipe Party!
