As the name implies, these bars are ooey and gooey, sweet and tart and just melt in your mouth goodness….. heavenly and yummy!
They have a nice little crust, gooey center and topped off with a sweet drizzle of glaze, it just doesn’t get any better than that. Lemon is a favorite in my house, my husband and daughter both really go for lemon and I had recently read a post about Ooey Gooey cake bars and decided to try and make a Lemon Ooey Gooey bar, and it was very successful!
It’s really simple to make, you start with cake mix, egg and butter, to make the base
for the Ooey, Gooey part and mix well until combined
While it’s baking make a glaze of Powder sugar, milk & vanilla. If you really wanted to lemony it up, you could use a lemon cake mix, and use lemon juice instead milk and vanilla for the glaze, but be ready to pucker up!
Bake it up in a 350 degree oven in a foil line 13 x 9 pan
and when it’s done, cool on the counter or if it’s warm in the frig to get nice clean pieces the drizzle with glaze

1 8 oz. package of soften cream cheese
1 stick of butter, soften
2 large lemons

In the same bowl, mix with hand mixer cream cheese, beat until fluffy, 2 minutes add eggs and butter, mix to combine. Zest lemons into cream cheese mixture and juice both lemons into cream cheese bowl. Add vanilla and powder sugar. Turn mixer on low and beat to combine. Pour over cake mix mixture in sheet pan
1 cup of powder sugar
2 to 3 TBSP of milk

With a whisk combine above ingredients, start with 2 TBSP of milk and add more if necessary. You want the glaze to drizzle, not pour loosely or not thick that you have to spread it, you can add milk to thin and more powder sugar if necessary.
