I missed the bake sale this month at my op shop, because we ran in this 5k and later had the grilled salmon, however, I make dessert at least once a week, every week. My husband can’t wait to finish dinner so he can have dessert, I have learned how to make lots of desserts, but this is one of his favorites. I love it because it’s easy to keep all the ingredients on hand and when you make it the house smell amazing!
Start with :
1 can of crescent rolls separated
1 granny smith apple, peeled and cut into 8 pieces
Roll each apple slice into a crescent and place in a greased square baking dish.
1 stick of butter
3/4 cup of sugar
1 TBSP vanilla
1 – 7.5 oz can of Mountain Dew
Melt butter, stir sugar into melted butter, but do not melt the sugar, you want it grainy, stir in vanilla and pour over crescents. Sprinkle heavily with cinnamon, then pour the Mountain Dew around the crescents. Place in a preheated 350 degree oven and bake for 45 minutes. Serve with homemade whip cream and it is out of this world, the liquid alone you could drink with a straw, AMAZING! I have never made this dessert when there are any leftovers, it’s that good!
